Engineering

June 1 — June 3

engineering

ɛndʒɪˈnɪərɪŋ/

noun

  1. the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures.
  2. the action of working artfully to bring something about.

Take a look around you. Chances are, almost 80% of what you’re looking at, has been created by an engineer. From the fan whirring above your head, to the computer in front of you, from the mattress you sleep on, to your beloved fridge, engineers made all these possible. If mundane household applications aren’t your cup of tea, engineers brought the Mangalyaan to life, and designed the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco too.

If it’s Science’s job to push the boundaries of human knowledge, then it’s Engineering’s job to make it reality. Engineering builds the world around us. Engineers get to do the cool stuff.

Scientific aptitude and a love for problem solving are a must-have for Engineering, along with creativity, and a sprinkling of enthusiasm. If you have all these and look forward to seeing your work change people’s lives, then Engineering is for you.

A special shout-out to all the young women reading this. You might just discover your passion for Engineering through this workshop!
